Adidas has released the Argentina x Messi 2026 Special Edition kit, created to commemorate Lionel Messi’s career with the national team and set to be worn for his farewell international appearance on 6 October.
Argentina Kit Design & Inspiration
The new Argentina jersey retains the traditional sky-blue and white colour scheme, with a central white stripe bordered by sky-blue sections across the front and back. A reinterpretation of the Sun of May extends across the shirt through a series of radiating horizontal lines, referencing the symbol found on the Argentine flag.
Gold detailing is used throughout the special edition shirt. Messi’s signature logo replaces the standard adidas logo on the right chest, positioned opposite the three-star Argentine Football Association crest. A gold number 10 appears centrally on the front, with “MESSI” and a larger gold 10 applied to the back.
The neckline is finished in black with gold edging, with matching black and gold trim around the sleeve cuffs. White adidas 3-Stripes run across the shoulders. Beneath the rear collar is a commemorative emblem incorporating the Sun of May, the number 10, laurel branches and Messi’s name.
Technical Features
Built for match performance, the Authentic version combines a streamlined slim fit with smooth jacquard fabric and a heat-applied federation badge, supported by Climacool+ technology for enhanced cooling and dry comfort.
The replica version uses smooth interlock fabric in a similar slim fit, with standard Climacool technology designed to wick and disperse sweat during play.

Completing the Argentina x Messi kit are black shorts with white adidas stripes, sky-blue and gold edging and gold branding, accompanied by white socks with sky-blue sections and gold detailing.
The jersey forms part of a wider Messi x Argentina collection that also includes pre-match clothing, culture wear, shorts and socks.
