Aston Villa 2025 Adidas 150th Anniversary Kit

Aston Villa 2025 Adidas 150th Anniversary Kit

Aston Villa have unveiled a special edition football shirt to commemorate the club’s 150th anniversary, inspired by their original colours, black, before adopting claret and blue.

The adidas jersey features a redesigned crest based on the Scottish lion rampant introduced in 1878, when Villa became the first UK team to include a crest on their shirts. This authentic recreation honours the club’s pioneering heritage, with motifs originally sourced by William McGregor.

Principal partners Betano and Trade Nation have agreed to remove their logos to enhance the historic aesthetic.

Villa kit when they were founded in March 1874 was Claret and Blue hoops. 150 years anniversary was last year. You would not celebrate your 50th birthday a month and half before your 51st.🤔 Even worse than the recent Scottish shirt at least that had a bit of detail.

I am pleased to see the kit represents the Villains earliest kit and their Scottish links. The rampant lion is not as big as the first kit, thank goodness!
