FC Augsburg have revealed their new Third shirt for the 2025/26 season, continuing the “Augusta Vindelicum” theme that celebrates the club’s Roman heritage.
The Mizuno design draws inspiration from ancient artefacts found in Augsburg, integrating Roman symbols into a modern football kit.
The jersey is black with an all-over embossed pattern referencing Roman antiquities and elements of the club’s crest. All logos, including those of Mizuno and the sponsors, appear in gold. The same gold tone is used for the sleeve cuffs, collar trim, and player name and number on the back, which are printed in a Roman-style font. The club’s founding year, 1907, is shown in Roman numerals at the back of the neck, with ‘FC Augsburg’ lettering placed below.
Constructed from recycled polyester, the shirt is available in both short and long-sleeved options and is paired with matching black shorts and socks featuring gold details.
The launch photoshoot took place beside the WWK ARENA at the spot where Roman artefacts were uncovered during the stadium’s construction. With support from the city’s archaeology department, the club recreated an excavation site using real soil, tools, and replica stones to capture the historical theme in the imagery.
