This is Esporte Clube Bahia’s 2023 Black Awareness shirt.
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side’s new special release, in white and blue and featuring Afro-Bahian prints by artist Alberto Pitta, is billed as “Aláfia” and honours African-based religions as part of an initiative centred on fighting religious racism.
“Aláfia” is a border-transcending expression of peace and prosperity and is the theme of a shirt that also carries the logo of in-house brand Esquadrão and the crest in full colour.
