Barcelona 2022-23 Nike Home Kit

This is the new FC Barcelona Home kit for the 2022/23 season, which is inspired by the Barcelona Olympics in the year that the city is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the transformation.

The new jersey harks back to the landmark event and is being presented today, Friday 3 June, under the tagline “The Flame Lives On”.

Its design evokes the spirit of that period of regeneration and redefinition, a time when Barcelona opened up to the world and the world opened up to Barcelona.

The design of home strip evokes the new light introduced to the city of Barcelona with the creation of new spaces and most especially new connections to the sea, an idea that is represented by the different coloured stripes on the shirt, where red alternates with two different shades of blue, one navy and the other lighter. The same navy blue also features on the collar, sleeves, shorts, and socks.

Design FC

The jersey also includes the logo of the Club's main partner, Spotify, on the front for the first time, as well as a message of solidarity in support of refugees with the UNHCR/ACNUR logo below the number on the back.

The best Barca kit was the classic Meyba one as worn by Maradona, Lineker, Laudrup, Archiebald etc. Understated, pure, symbolising what the great club was about. I was lucky enough to own it as a child in various sizes. They had it for 9 years, before the days of Nike commercialism.
I understand its a modern, 'yooth' market now but this looks nothing whatsover like a traditional Barca kit. As has been the style in recent years. I despise what modern kits have become, 'fashion' dictating and destroying traditional great kits like Barca, Juve and Inter. And I am wearing my retro 1989 Manchester United shirt as i vent my spleen...

This shirt is absolutely amazing the fact that they have stuck to the history of the club 30 years ago with the olympics in Barcelona. The reason for the change in the stripes is due to the stripes at the time of the event 30 yrs ago. Know ya history and mayby you would understand why it looks different to other home kits ?

Really? I was around at the time. For those who weren't you can see the '92 kit here (and the years before and after): footballkitarchive DOT com/fc-barcelona-kits/#1990s

This kit is not evocative of that (maybe the away kit at a stretch). Nor is this representing the colour scheme for the '92 olympics. But it is way too blue.

I understand what you are saying but the club obviously agreed to the design and I’ve supported Barcelona since 72 and don’t have a problem with the kit I also feel if anyone dislike don’t buy that simple there have been a few kits I’ve avoided through the years

Nike are doing their best to ruin Barca's shirts. Tradition counts for nothing.

Absolutely. Shame on the clubs hierarchy for letting Nike do this. It's like the company has went out of its way to completely alter what was arguably the most classic and cool kit on the planet (I'm talking 70s, 80s Barca kits). Even the 90s kits by Kappa maintained some traditional aspects.

Being a Barca hater for over 30 years, this jersey fits the club very well.

Two shades of blue where there should be only one. One shade is too dark, the other too light. A shame for Nike, and a shame for Barca for accepting this rubbish.

It shouldn't be that easy to screw up the design for a Barcelona home shirt - but Nike have managed to do it on this occasion.

Then again most of Nike's Barcelona home shirts over the last 10 years or so have been horrific, it's like how can we make next seasons shirt worse than the present.
