This is the new Club Atlético Independiente Home shirt by Puma.
The simple red 2023-24 design for the Argentine Primera División side is, curiously, embellished with non-contrast cuffs and collar despite this release celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Intercontinental Cup win against Juventus in Rome - “El día que Independiente llegó a la Luna” (the day Independiente landed on the Moon) - where the equivalent elements were white.
Detailing, including that which commemorates the half-centenary (the pennant for the Rome encounter is replicated on the upper back and this is an important symbol as, famously, the Apollo 11 Moon landing also had an Independiente pennant onboard), is in white, aside from the full-colour “Rey de Copas” crest, and the kit will be completed with complementing shorts and socks.
