Cagliari Calcio have launched a special-edition “Heritage” jersey , worn for their Serie A match against Inter on 12 April at San Siro.
The shirt marks a cultural exchange between Sardinia and China, especially with Fujian Province and the city of Xiapu, following recent visits and cooperation projects, including the youth-focused XPlay programme.
Produced in partnership with EYE Sport, the design references the Year of the Snake (2025) with a gold-outlined snake across an imperial red base, inspired by Chinese dragon motifs. Blue sleeves with Sardinian weave patterns, a Chinese golden knot on the right cuff, and gold trim enhance the look.
Additional elements include the Boeli Stele motif, the 福 (fu) character on the back collar symbolising luck, and both the club crest and EYE Sport logos in lightweight silicone. Each shirt features a numbered “Limited Edition” tag via embedded NFC technology for digital authentication. Players’ names will be printed in Chinese characters to honour the initiative’s cross-cultural aims.
