Coventry City have released a limited edition 50th anniversary shirt, marking five decades since the introduction of the club’s iconic hourglass design first worn in 1975.
The commemorative shirt from Admiral revisits a landmark moment in English football kit history, when the original Coventry City strip introduced a bold visual layout that stood apart from traditional designs of the era. The anniversary edition retains the familiar sky blue base, complemented by contrasting navy and white side detailing that follows the distinctive hourglass structure across the body.
Short sleeves are finished with ribbed cuffs, while a classic fold over collar completes the silhouette. An embroidered Coventry City crest is positioned on the left chest, paired with the Admiral logo on the opposite side, reflecting the original partnership from the 1970s. A woven authenticity label is applied near the hem, confirming the shirt’s limited status.
Production is restricted to 1,975 individually numbered shirts, referencing the year the original design debuted. Each piece is presented in a dedicated collector box, which includes printed historical content documenting the significance of the 1975 kit and its place in Coventry City history.
