This is the new special-edition Fussball Club Basel 1893 shirt to mark and celebrate “die drey scheenschte Dääg” (“the three most beautiful days”) this year, i.e. the “Basler Fasnacht” (“Carnival of Basel”).
The 2024 Macron release is largely in black and white - though a stripe of red and blue is present and correct - and references the iconic event, which now features in UNESCO’s Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage, most notably with the “Ueli”-mask-style rhombus print and Basel crosier emblem repeated as a pattern.
The shirt, which also includes rendering of coloured confetti and Macron’s “Hero” logos, was worn with the Home shorts and socks in last weekend’s win over FC St. Gallen at Sankt Jakob-Park.
