FC Basel 1893 and Macron have once again paid tribute to the Basel Carnival (Fasnacht) with a Special Edition 2025 Carnival kit.
The kit draws inspiration from Schnitzelbängg, the traditional carnival rhymes performed in masked plays, and hand-painted lanterns that illuminate the Morgenstraich parade. Designed by artist Domo Löw, the shirt features hand-drawn illustrations of carnival scenes, appearing across the navy, red, and blue jersey. Even the Macron logo, club crest, sponsor logos, player names, and numbers are designed to resemble hand-painted elements.
The long-sleeve jersey includes white-trimmed cuffs, Swiss-German phrases celebrating Fasnacht, and a custom inside neck label with carnival motifs. Basel’s number 10, Xherdan Shaqiri, presented the jersey at Theater Fauteuil, reinforcing the fusion of football, art, and tradition.
