1 FC Köln and hummel have unveiled the club’s new Third kit for the 25/26 season, marking both the 77th anniversary of the team and the 777th anniversary of the laying of the Cologne Cathedral’s foundation stone.
The black shirt incorporates intricate embossed graphics inspired by the Cathedral’s Gothic architecture, with motifs of the building’s tall columns, stained-glass windows, gargoyles, and the Petersglocke bell, known locally as the “Decke Pitter.
The club crest and hummel logo are embroidered in gold, matching the gold detailing on the collar and sleeve trim. Inside the neckline, a gold Cathedral silhouette is paired with the inscription “15 August 1248 – 777 Jahre – 15 August 2025.”
Golden chevrons run down the sides of the torso, while the front displays the main sponsor REWE in matching gold. The shirt connects strongly with the club’s heritage, as the Cathedral appears on the team crest. Historic links include the installation of a stone billy goat at the Cathedral after the 1963 German Championship and later stone carvings of two footballers.
The shirt is paired with black shorts and socks that continue the gold detailing. Each kit is presented in a special collector’s box containing information on the Cathedral’s history and an explanation of the shirt’s design elements.
