This is the new Futebol Clube do (FC) Porto “Stop the Purple” shirt from New Balance.
This latest 2024-25 release for the Portuguese side - billed as the “Celestial” Pre-Match Jersey in the context of the men’s side - will be worn by the newly formed women’s team in their Sunday 24th November clash against Leixões as part of a campaign by the Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Vítima (Portuguese Victim Support Association/APAV), its purple look referring to bruising and how the colour should be worn on clothing and not on the body itself.
Timed to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - 25th November - the fund-and-awareness-raising shirt boasts a rendering of the Draco constellation in the navy-/blue-tinged night sky as a nod to the “Dragões” (“Dragons”) nickname, the crest and supplier logo are iridescent, the main sponsor position is taken up with the legend “STOP THE PURPLE [-] RIXO PARA VESTIR, NÃO PARA MARCAR.” (“STOP THE PURPLE [-] MADE TO WEAR, NOT TO MARK.”) and the kit will be completed with complementing shorts and socks.
