Fortaleza Esporte Clube, of Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, have unveiled a new third (3) shirt.
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Alcides Santos Stadium (in 1962), where Fortaleza play a portion of their home matches, the in-house, “Leão 1918” release is in tones of red with white and blue and features a special monogram crest.
Named after the “Pici” area of Fortaleza, which takes its name from the initialism of “Post Command” - the locality was used as a US air base in the Second World War and the shirt carries a fighter plane detail on the upper back - the 2022-23 design will be combined with complementing shorts and socks to form a kit and there is a special goalkeeper version also with commemorative stylings.
