Fortuna Düsseldorf have unveiled the 2026 Düsseldorf am Rhein jersey by adidas, a special edition release centred on the city’s connection to the Rhine, the second longest river in Central and Western Europe.
Fortuna Düsseldorf Kit Design
The new Fortuna Düsseldorf jersey is presented in a deep blue base, featuring a flowing wave graphic across the front panel. The pattern varies in density and direction, creating a layered water-like effect across the shirt.
Red detailing appears on the collar and runs through the side piping, while white adidas three stripes are positioned on the shoulders. The adidas logo and TARGOBANK shirt sponsor are applied in white on the chest.
The Düsseldorf city coat of arms appears alongside the club crest, showing a silver shield with a red lion wearing a blue crown and holding a lowered blue anchor. The lion references the Duchy of Berg and the city’s origins in the 13th century, while the anchor reflects Düsseldorf’s long-standing connection to the Rhine, symbolising trade, movement, and openness.
The number detailing references the Rhine kilometer system, used since the 19th century to measure distance along the river from its starting point in Constance. Düsseldorf is marked at kilometer 749, the location of the Merkur Spiel-Arena, where the club’s home matches are played.
Additional graphic details reference Düsseldorf’s cable-stayed bridges, including the Rheinknie Bridge, Oberkassel Bridge, and Theodor Heuss Bridge. These structures formed the first group in the city’s bridge network, later joined by the Fleher and Airport bridges, and are a defining feature of the Düsseldorf skyline.

The new Fortuna Düsseldorf football shirt is paired with dark navy shorts and matching socks to complete the kit. Proceeds from the Fortuna Düsseldorf Düsseldorf am Rhein jersey contribute to the restoration of the historic Rhine water level clock.
