Hannover 96 and Italian kit manufacturer Macron have released a special-edition jersey commemorating the club’s 130th anniversary.
Kit Design & Inspiration
The new Hannover 96 jersey centres on the club’s historic association with red shirts, a colour documented in use as early as the beginning of the 20th century. It is presented in a deep red base, with a tonal execution applied across all visible elements.
The H96 crest, Macron Hero logo, sponsor and sleeve details are all applied in matching red, creating a tonal appearance across the front of the shirt.
Anniversary detailing is included throughout the garment. The dates 1896–2026 are embroidered on the external back neck, highlighting the founding year of Hannover 96 and the 130-year milestone. Inside the rear hem, a silicone band repeats the anniversary dates alongside the club crest, forming part of the internal finishing of the shirt.
Technical Features
Across the front and sleeves, a jacquard fabric structure introduces fine vertical pinstripes woven into the material rather than printed, adding texture while maintaining the single-colour finish.
The kit is produced using Macron’s Eco Fabric range, with both the jacquard and micromesh materials made from recycled plastic. This aligns the release with ongoing sustainability initiatives linked to modern football kit manufacturing. The rear panel uses a lighter micromesh fabric to support airflow and comfort during play.

The new Hannover 96 anniversary football shirt is paired with black shorts featuring a tonal club crest and white socks, completing the full kit. It will be worn in the 2. Bundesliga fixture against SC Paderborn on 18 April 2026.
