Club Atlético Independiente have presented a special edition football shirt that pays tribute to the squad that lifted the Copa Libertadores title in 1975.
The 1975 team wore a red shirt featuring a white foldover collar, a central buttoned placket and a white chest panel. These same structural elements appear in the modern tribute release. The new Independiente shirt from Puma incorporates a white collar and placket, along with a white pocket panel that carries the CAI crest, reflecting the visual layout worn by Independiente during their successful run.
The base of the shirt is red with subtle vertical detailing, complemented by white sleeve trim. Puma branding appears on the front and sleeves, while sponsor applications are positioned in white. Inside the collar, tribute text references the club’s legacy, linking the current generation to Independiente’s long continental record.
On the reverse, the shirt includes commemorative markings that record the club’s seven Libertadores titles: 1964, 1965, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1984. Player name and number printing sits below the tribute graphic. This release forms part of Independiente’s wider celebration of their Copa Libertadores history and was worn during the 1:0 win over Rosario Central.
