Adidas have revealed the Japan 2026 Away kit, a light-toned alternate strip prepared for international competition including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Drawing inspiration from the “Colours Beyond the Horizon”, the new Japan jersey features an off-white base combined with a multi-coloured vertical stripe graphic applied across the full surface. The pattern includes a series of fine, fading lines in varied colours, creating a layered rain-like effect from collar to hem. A single central red stripe runs vertically through the middle of the shirt, referencing the sun motif associated with the national identity.
Black detailing is used for the collar, sleeve cuffs and adidas three stripes on the shoulders, providing contrast against the lighter base. The Japan Football Association crest appears on the left chest in a monochrome execution, while the adidas trefoil is placed opposite. On the upper back, just below the collar, a small Japanese flag is positioned as a national signifier.
The shirt is constructed using lightweight jacquard fabric, designed to support airflow and ease of movement. adidas CLIMACOOL+ technology is integrated into the material to assist with moisture management and temperature regulation during play. Engineered stretch zones are incorporated to improve flexibility in high-intensity conditions.
The new Japan football shirt will be worn by the Japan national football team with matching black shorts and off-white socks, completing the secondary strip for the 2026–2027 international cycle.
