In last weekend’s defeat to Torino, Unione Sportiva Lecce debuted a new “115th Anniversary” shirt.
Lifting the stylings from the change kits the Italian Serie A side had in the 1991-92 season - the campaign in which current sporting director Stefano Trinchera moved from youth football to the first team squad - the 2023 commemorative release has a strong adidas look.
Also bringing to mind shirts worn by USSR and Czechoslovakia in the Italia 90 World Cup in 1990, the creation branded with a “M908” logo (referring to Lecce’s March 1908 beginnings) was worn in white with grey, yellow and red (I Giallorossi) outfield, forming a kit with matching shorts and socks, and the red version was modelled by goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone on launch.
