1. FSV Mainz 05 have unveiled their Carnival shirt for the 25/26 season, produced in partnership with JAKO. The release continues the club’s long standing tradition of celebrating Mainz carnival culture through a dedicated annual kit.
For the 25/26 edition, the Mainz 05 jersey draws inspiration from the Schwellkopp character Lisbetche, a familiar figure in the city’s Rosenmontag parade. Schwellköpp are oversized papier mâché heads that have featured in Mainz carnival celebrations for almost a century, forming a recognisable part of local cultural identity. Following last season’s reference to Karlchen, this release shifts focus to Lisbetche, traditionally depicted wearing a pink feather boa and patterned blouse.
The Mainz 05 football shirt features a black base with an all over diamond pattern incorporating pastel tones including pink, yellow, teal and light grey. The pattern is applied consistently across the front, sleeves and back. A dark collar frames the neckline, while the Mainz 05 crest appears on the chest. The Kommerling shirt sponsor is applied to the front in line with competition regulations. Player names and numbers use a bespoke typeface developed specifically for the carnival shirt.
The 25/26 Karneval shirt is released as a limited edition, with 1905 individually numbered units produced. Each shirt is presented in a dedicated collector box, which includes a themed pin and a printed portrait of Lisbetche.
