1. FSV Mainz 05 are celebrating their 120th anniversary with a special edition shirt, inspired by one of the club’s earliest designs from 1911.
The shirt features an off-white base with a striking red sash across the front, reflecting the historical design. The Mainz wheel is embroidered on the chest in place of the modern club crest, mirroring the early days of the club when the current logo had not yet been introduced. The collar is a buttoned polo style, and the cuffs are ribbed for a vintage feel. Roman numerals marking the club’s founding year (1905) and the present year (2025) are printed on the back.
The shirt will come in a collector’s box, including a five-page comic illustrated by Peter O'Toole, a fine art print, and a special anniversary pin. The team will wear the commemorative kit in their match against SC Freiburg at the MEWA ARENA.
