Motherwell F.C. have released a 140th Anniversary Jersey, produced with Macron and based on the club’s early colours from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Motherwell Kit Design & Inspiration
The Motherwell 140th Anniversary Jersey uses a petrol blue base across the shirt, reflecting the colour worn by the club before the adoption of claret and amber in 1913. The same shade is also used for the tonal Macron logo on the right chest and the stylised “MFC” detail on the left.
A lace-style neck opening appears at the front, with white crossover detailing set into a small V-shaped insert. The shirt has a plain body, short sleeves with matching cuffs and a clean, sponsor-free retail finish. A small Macron licensed product label sits near the lower front hem, while side vents are included at the base.
On the back, the jersey continues the petrol blue colour scheme with “1886” placed below the collar, referencing the year Motherwell Football Club was founded. The inside neck area includes a commemorative anniversary detail, with red and amber also appearing on the internal label.
Full Motherwell 140 Years Kit details
Motherwell’s anniversary kit is completed with white shorts and petrol blue socks, linking the full strip to the club’s early visual identity. The shirt was worn on pitch against the same opponent Motherwell faced in their first match at Fir Park in 1896.
