This is the Club de Fútbol Monterrey “Jersey Rayado Patrio” - or “Patriotic Striped Shirt” - from Puma.
Recently unveiled by CF Monterrey - or “Rayados”, explaining the apparent misnomer of the seemingly solid-coloured release - the green creation was worn in the 2-0 Liga MX defeat of FC Atlas.
Giving off, tonally, the look of a large “M” on the trunk, on this occasion the styling refers not just to Monterrey’s mountainous landscape and the initial of the home city, but also that of the nation of Mexico, as the release, and its colouring, is an act of support of the national team prior to their Qatar 2022 World Cup campaign.
Calling all shirt collectors: FootballShirtCollector.com is coming soon! We’re launching a new community site created especially for shirt collectors. It’s a dedicated space to connect with others, create your profile, and join a growing network of fellow football shirt collectors.
The crest is in standard colour, the partner logos in white and the trim in red, and the shirt - which actually does have elaborate sublimated ghost striping on close inspection - was combined with red shorts and socks to form a kit decorated with player numbers filled with traditional Mexican patterning.
