Reading 2023-24 Macron Away Kit

Reading 2023-24 Macron Away Kit

Reading FC have revealed their new away kit for the 2023-24 season, featuring the image of the Maiwand Lion, a symbol well-known and cherished by all in Reading.

Originally unveiled in Forbury Gardens in 1886, the cast iron statue was created as a memorial to honor the 329 brave men from the 66th (Berkshire) Regiment of Foot who sacrificed their lives during the Second Anglo-Afghan War.

Continuing their commitment to sustainability, the shirt is made from Eco-Fabric, sourced entirely from recycled plastic bottles. This initiative is part of the 'Macron 4 The Planet' campaign, which aims to introduce new eco-sustainable products to the market.

Not different enough from the home shirt -could they use this at QPR away? ( If they were in the same division)

The kit is OK but to say that a monument commemorating an Anglo-Afghan war is cherished by all in Reading might be stretching the truth a little

Sure its not cherished by the Afgan refugees living in Reading. Who had family members killed in that conflict.

Dont mind this but loses points for a lion which looks more like a smoke cloud after a plane crash.

Does every football shirt have to come with a backstory? It's nonsense.

Got to love Reading’s refusal to see the irony in claiming to have a commitment to the environment whilst being sponsored by a car leasing company

I was going to say I liked it, but if I did, I'd be lion.

No disrespect to Maiwand Lion but the image on the shirt just looks like a mud stain, if you have to explain it then clearly something is wrong

Elm Park had to be the most non-descript football ground ever.
