Club Atlético River Plate and adidas have released a special-edition River Plate 125 Anniversary Jersey, celebrating 125 years of the Argentine club.
River Plate Anniversary Kit Design & Inspiration
With a design inspired by historic River Plate football shirts and classic matchwear styling, the River Plate 125 Anniversary shirt arrives in an off-white colourway combined with the club’s traditional Team Power Red diagonal sash running across the front and back.
A fold-over polo collar with a short button placket adds to the retro-inspired look, with the Trefoil logo replacing the standard adidas performance logo in reference to the earlier eras of football apparel.
Anniversary Details
Instead of the modern club crest, the jersey features an embroidered interlocking “RP” monogram positioned within the sash, referencing one of River Plate’s earliest club emblems first used in 1918. The tonal detailing continues across the shirt, including a commemorative woven patch near the hem reading “Club Atlético River Plate 25 de Mayo de 1901 125 Aniversario”, referencing the club’s foundation following the merger of the “Santa Rosa” and “La Rosales” clubs.
Technical Features
The River Plate anniversary football shirt is constructed from a double-knit fabric designed for matchday and casual wear. adidas Climacool technology is incorporated to improve airflow and moisture management, with the lightweight quick-drying material intended to maintain comfort during play and everyday use.
