Rot-Weiss Essen have revealed a special 2026 JAKO football shirt to celebrate 100 years of the club crest, placing the historic emblem at the centre of the design.
The Rot-Weiss Essen 100 Years of the Crest jersey is presented in a deep red base, featuring an all-over tonal pattern built from repeated crest elements. This subtle graphic references the long-standing identity of the club, originally created in 1925 by graphic designer Heinrich Schenk. The pattern runs across the full body, maintaining consistency throughout the front, back and sleeves.
On the chest, the club crest appears in a special anniversary execution, embroidered in white and gold and framed by a laurel wreath, with a single gold star positioned above and a small “100” detail beneath. The JAKO logo is applied on the opposite side in gold, matching the overall colour treatment.
The jersey features a white crew neck collar and white sleeve cuffs, providing contrast against the red body. The back includes “Rot-Weiss Essen” lettering in gold, paired with matching gold numbers and player names.
Notably, the shirt is free from sponsor branding, with main partner ifm and other commercial partners stepping back to allow the crest to remain the sole focal point.
Limited to 2,500 pieces, the commemorative jersey will be worn during the final 3. Liga home match of the campaign against SC Verl at the Stadion an der Hafenstraße.
