SC Cambuur will wear a commemorative shirt during their match against Vitesse to mark 80 years since the liberation of Leeuwarden on 15 April 1945. That day, the Royal Canadian Dragoons entered the city via Groningerstraatweg, bringing an end to the German occupation.
The limited-edition shirt is designed by adidas and pays tribute to the regiment that helped liberate the city. Inspired by the Dragoons’ uniform, the red and white design features a diagonal sash effect with a pattern of red maple leaves across the front and sleeves. The regiment's emblem is placed below the collar on the upper back.
The club crest and adidas logo appear on the chest, along with main sponsor Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma. TanQyou features on the back, with the number 80 referencing the anniversary. “EFFEKTIEF” is sublimated underneath. The commemorative shirt serves as a tribute to those who fought for freedom and a reminder of its continued importance.
