Southampton FC have unveiled a special 50 Year Anniversary Shirt to commemorate the club’s historic FA Cup triumph of 1976, marking half a century since the Saints lifted the trophy for the first time.
Produced by Puma, the limited edition Southampton football shirt revisits the yellow and blue colourway worn during the 1976 FA Cup Final, with modern performance construction applied for contemporary match use. The Southampton jersey features a V-neck collar with blue trim, matching sleeve cuffs, and contrasting shoulder panels that reflect the layout seen in the original cup-winning design.
A tonal pattern is applied across the body, incorporating the printed signatures of the 1976 FA Cup-winning squad along with manager Lawrie McMenemy. The Southampton crest appears on the chest alongside a commemorative 1976 FA Cup Winners detail, while official Emirates FA Cup branding is positioned near the hem. Puma dryCELL technology is used throughout the shirt to support breathability and moisture management.
The anniversary shirt will be worn by Southampton’s Men’s First Team during the Third Round of the FA Cup fixture against Doncaster Rovers. A total of 1,976 shirts have been produced, referencing the year of the club’s FA Cup victory, with a limited run made available through official retail channels. A small number of green goalkeeper versions have also been released.
For supporter editions, front of shirt sponsor branding has been removed to allow a closer representation of the historic kit. The release is accompanied by a lifestyle collection inspired by the 1976 FA Cup campaign.
