Born from an idea shared between Torino FC and Club Atlético River Plate, the new Third shirt for the 2025/26 season has been created by Joma as a tribute to the enduring friendship between the two clubs.
This bond was forged in the aftermath of the Superga air disaster of 4 May 1949, when the plane carrying the legendary Grande Torino team tragically crashed, claiming the lives of all on board. In a remarkable gesture of solidarity, River Plate travelled to Turin to play a fundraising match in honour of the victims, giving rise to a friendship that has endured for over seven decades.
The shirt is designed in dark anthracite with a tonal jacquard pattern across the fabric. A metallic bronze Torino bull crest appears on the chest, matching the Joma logo and sponsor detailing. Red accents highlight the collar and sleeve cuffs, while the back of the neck features the combined Torino and River Plate crest alongside the motto Eterna Amistad – “Eternal Friendship.”
Constructed entirely from 100% recycled polyester made from PET bottles, the shirt reflects Joma’s commitment to sustainability. The lightweight jacquard fabric ensures comfort and breathability, supported by Micro-Mesh, Flatlock, and Sportech technologies for improved ventilation and smooth seams. This special edition kit will be paired with matching dark shorts and socks.
