VfL Bochum have revealed a special edition jersey to mark the 637th edition of the Maiabendfest, one of Germany’s oldest traditional festivals.
The event, held annually in Bochum’s city centre, commemorates the 1388 incident in which local youths reclaimed livestock stolen by neighbouring Dortmunders. The phrase “Junge, do kass di drop verloten!” (“Boy, you can count on it”) appears on the back of the shirt in local dialect, referencing this historic act of defiance.
Produced by Mizuno, the shirt features Bochum’s signature blue with a white sash across the front. The shirt features a full-colour club crest, white sponsor logos, and a tonal pattern, along with a white collar and cuffs. The back of the shirt carries the commemorative phrase just below the collar.
