Watford FC have revealed a special edition kit in collaboration with Kelme to honour Elton John, celebrating 50 years since he became Chairman of the club in 1976.
The shirt is produced in blue, the colour worn by the Hornets when Elton first supported the team as a boy. It features an all-over star graphic inspired by the artwork of his Diamonds album.
The Kelme logo and Watford badge are applied in silver, while the hem carries the Happy Hornet crest used during Elton’s time as Chairman.
The collar and sleeve cuffs also includes star detailing. At the back of the neck sits a silver “E” with a star, and across the lower back is a lyric from Your Song: “How wonderful life is while you’re in the world.” Inside the shirt, a bespoke tag carries the Elton John x Watford collaboration mark.
The kit is completed with silver shorts, decorated with “E” taping down the sides, and matching blue socks.
This collectors’ edition shirt comes packaged in a special edition gift box and will be worn by the first team when Watford face Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship. Match versions will feature sponsorship branding, but the retail shirt is available unbranded for supporters.
