To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Teeside-based English side’s solitary major-trophy win, Middlesbrough FC have unveiled this retro version of their 2003-04 Home shirt.
The new Erreà-produced throwback - the Italian brand supplied Boro twenty years ago as they do today - is reasonably accurate to the version worn in the Millennium Stadium victory over Bolton Wanderers in the 2004 League Cup/Carling Cup final, seeing a red base combined with white piping trim, supplier logo and crest detailing.
Missing is the sponsor branding of now-defunct “Dial-a-Phone”, though some fans who want that level of accuracy will surely bring it about with the options available in 2024.
