Nike have unveiled the re release of the Nigeria JO96 collection, bringing back the Nigeria football shirt and jacket associated with the Nigeria national team’s appearance at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. The collection revisits one of the most recognisable kits worn by the Super Eagles during a landmark period in the team’s history.
The reissued 1996 Nigeria football shirt is based on the Nigeria home shirt worn during the Atlanta Olympics, where the team secured the gold medal. The jersey features the familiar green and white colour scheme associated with Nigeria, with a vertical central panel applied to the front and continuing onto the reverse. Nigeria wordmark branding is positioned across the chest, with the Nike Swoosh placed above. A Nigeria Football Association crest appears on the sleeve, consistent with archival detailing.
Short sleeves are finished with green and white cuff detailing, while the collar includes a patterned insert referencing the original release. The shirt is produced using modern Nike materials, while retaining the layout and visual elements of the 1996 design.
The JO96 jacket is also included in the collection, presented in matching green and white tones. The zip up jacket features a high collar, Nike branding and Nigeria lettering across the back, aligning with the look of the original track top worn by players and staff during the tournament period.
