Sunderland AFC and Patrick have brought back a classic from the late 1980s with the reissue of the club’s Third shirt first worn between 1986 and 1988.
The shirt is predominantly yellow with a central Sunderland crest stitched onto the chest and Tuborg branding across the front in bold black.
A V-shaped neckline is detailed with black, red and white trim, complemented by matching sleeve cuffs. The Patrick logo is present on the sleeve, while the inner neck label carries the original red Patrick branding.
This design was first introduced in the 1986–87 campaign when Sunderland competed in the Second Division. The following season, in 1987–88, it was retained as the Black Cats secured the Third Division title and earned promotion.
It was the beginning of Sunderland wearing Patrick kits, following a change from Nike, and recreates the look of the original, maintaining the sponsor, colours, and manufacturer details that defined the shirt almost four decades ago.
