Sunderland AFC have released the 2005/06 Lonsdale Away Retro Shirt, revisiting the Black Cats’ change strip from that Premier League season.
The Sunderland retro shirt, a faithful reproduction of the original away shirt, is black, with red piping running along the raglan sleeve seams and side panels. Grey inserts sit between the black body and red detailing at the shoulders, while a red-trimmed V-neck collar frames the neckline. The overall construction mirrors the era specific Lonsdale template used during the mid 2000s.
The Lonsdale logo is embroidered in white on the right chest, positioned opposite a detailed embroidered Sunderland AFC crest. Across the front, the Reg Vardy sponsor is reproduced in raised application, complete with the distinctive gold V beneath the wordmark.
The back of the Sunderland football shirt remains plain black with continued red piping along the sleeves, maintaining the original configuration. Short sleeves and raglan construction provide the same silhouette as the design from the 05/06 season.
