AS Monaco Football Club is now an exceptional ambassador for the international organisation Peace and Sport that encourages the practice of sport as an instrument of peace and social stability throughout the world.

The new ASM FC shirt with the organisation’s logo was shown for the first time during a ceremony that took place in Monaco with an audience of over 300 decision-makers in politics, sport and business, on the occasion of the second International Forum Peace and Sport.

The football shirt was unveiled by two players from AS Monaco FC : Freddy Adu, American with Ghanaian origins and Chu-Young Park from South Korea, alongside their Brazilian coach Ricardo Raymundo Gomes and his assistant coach Jean Petit.

The two players, both Olympians, are particularly attached to Peace and Sport’s cause, which allows thousands of young people throughout the world to find a structure in life through the practice and values of sport.

A few minutes beforehand, Jérôme de Bontin, President of AS Monaco FC, had received a golden pin depicting a Peace Torch, the symbol of Peace and Sport ambassadors. Mr. de Bontin explained that the partnership between the two organisations is not summed up with the new shirt. A Gala Match would from now on take place every year in the Louis II Stadium to the benefit of Peace and Sport.

Mr. Bouzou said : “Today we are creating a bridge between professional sport, a source of inspiration for millions of young people throughout the world, and educational sport that enables every child to become structured, to become socially integrated and to acquire a mentality of civil-mindedness. Players at AS MONACO FC have been role models for thousands of fans from all corners of the world for years. The involvement of athletes such as these is an essential element for attracting young people to our programmes, and changing lives is made possible thanks to sport. We are honoured that the club has accepted to put its reputation at the service of this noble ambition without a moment’s hesitation.”

Mr. de Bontin, President of ASM FC added “it’s an honour for AS Monaco FC to become a Peace and Sport Ambassador, under the Principality of Monaco’s banner. This partnership brings strong values and is a witness to the unfailing commitment of a strong determination to make sport a genuine vector for reconciliation and fraternity. We are proud to unite our colours with those of Peace and Sport so that together, we can spread the message of sustainable peace throughout the world.”

The Peace and Sport logo will be displayed every other match on the AS Monaco FC shirt. The alternative logo is Fightaids Monaco.

The logo cut isn\'t as important as the point they\'re getting across. I wonder if these will be sold or just models available to the players?

is that a prototype or will the shirt actually have that extremely-badly-trimmed logo on it? What a mess!
