BNP Paribas Fortis will still be RSC Anderlecht’s main sponsor next season. During a press conference, the bank and the football club announced that their existing partnership will be extended by one year, until June 2010.

Fortis has been Sporting Anderlecht’s main sponsor since the season 1981-1982, that is, 28 years in the meantime, and it has been decided that this tradition will be continued for at least one year: loyalty is very important in the bank’s sponsor policy.
"We are also a very loyal club", said Anderlecht president Roger Vanden Stock during the press conference, "and I never doubted that we would indeed come to an agreement. In June 2010, our partnership will have last for no less than 29 years. I hope that the number 29 will not keep on hunting us.
For the last two seasons, we have been trying to gain our thirtieth national championship title. We have not managed to do so yet, but I hope that we reach an agreement with BNP Paribas when we start contract negotiations for the 30th year", the president smiled. "I would like to thank the bank for wanting to work with us for another year and I hope that we will be able to continue our conversation soon."
