Castore has secured an exclusive deal with GL Dameck to become the sole licensee for Umbro Professional Team Sports, enabling them to distribute the Umbro brand across several key European markets including the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
This move follows a significant £145 million investment in November 2023, positioning Castore for further expansion into the elite sports sector and marking its growth into a multi-brand operation. Umbro's celebrated history in sport, especially elite football, combined with Castore's modern digital and supply chain capabilities, aims to challenge the market dominance of giants like Nike and adidas, promising to bring a new competitive edge.
The partnership not only highlights Castore's strategic brand diversification but also amplifies its presence within the elite sports marketplace in the UK and Europe. Leveraging its successful digital-first approach, Castore plans to enhance Umbro's renowned legacy and fan-centric brand ethos by broadening its partnership network within the sports community.

Starting with the 2024/25 season, Castore will exclusively manage Umbro's partnerships with several English Premier League and Football League clubs, including AFC Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton Town, West Ham, Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, and Forest Green Rovers. Additionally, the agreement extends Castore's apparel provision under the Umbro brand to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership and sustains its relationship with Glasgow Rangers FC, as well as supporting the England Rugby men’s and women’s teams during an especially engaging period for the sport, aligned with the Guinness Six Nations.
