Club sponsor Eurostar have come up with a unique way to celebrate the football club’s achievement of reaching the Wembley, and the support given to the players by the club’s new owners.
They have offered to share the front of the Ebbsfleet United shirts worn by the players on the day with 11 MyFootballClub usernames. So, as well as the Eurostar logo, 11 usernames will also get to grace the Wembley turf and be seen by hundreds of thousands in the stadium and on Sky TV.
We believe it’s the first time a football club sponsor has ever shared the shirt with the supporters.
If members choose to accept this offer from Eurostar, the 11 spaces will be auctioned off, with the money raised going to the football club. Eurostar provided us with the following proposal:
"1. Sponsor auction package
We plan to auction the space beneath the Eurostar logo on the front of the final shirt to the 11 highest bidders. Each winning bidder, decided by the highest bid on eBay, will be entitled to the following:
- The opportunity to place their chosen username on the front of the shirt to be worn by the players during the game. (Ts & Cs apply)
Sign in or create an account to earn points for voting, keep track of your reviews, edit them, and more.
- Coupled with this they will also win corporate hospitality for the day, enabling them to mingle with those behind the scenes, watch the game, enjoy a complimentary three course meal and drinks.
- On top of that we will be offering a signed final shirt including usernames on the shirt.
- And finally, each successful bidder will receive a pair of Leisure Select return tickets on Eurostar.
There will be 11 lots on Ebay and the highest bidder on each lot will be succesful, all proceeds will go to Ebbsfleet United & myfootballclub.co.uk, with eBay taking a small amount as per their auction rules.
To avoid any issues with usernames, corporate hospitality & travel, our legal team have offered to draw up full terms and conditions for the auction and we have the full backing of the FA & eBay for this event."
If the offer from Eurostar gets the go ahead, the Eurostar logo will be reduced, and 11 usernames added into the space made available by the Eurostar logo reduction.
Time is of the essence, so member vote will be held now (closing midday Tuesday 22 April UK time) to decide whether or not to accept Eurostar’s offer.
