Farnborough announce Canterbury football kit deal

Canterbury’s association with the club will be showcased on May 10th, when Farnborough will be wearing a limited edition kit in the Hampshire Senior Cup Final against Basingstoke Town

Farnborough Football Club has announced details of a lucrative new teamwear supply contract with Canterbury New Zealand Limited.

Canterbury is a brand more widely recognised as a supplier to Rugby teams currently supplying the national teams of Scotland and Ireland and also the Southern hemisphere giants Australia and South Africa. Having recently moved into the football market they already supply Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna and have a presence in the Premier League with Portsmouth.

Farnborough have signed an initial four year deal which will see Canterbury become the clubs Official Teamwear Partner supplying all playing, training and replica kits and also an extensive range of leisurewear for the club shop.
This will be supported by Canterbury’s Elite Stockist, The Sports Shop.

Commenting soon after the agreement was finalised Farnborough’s Simon Hollis said "We have been seeking a partner for our team wear supply and have met with all of the major brands, after careful consideration we are sure that Canterbury meets all of our requirements. The quality of their products is exceptional and each year we will work with Canterbury to design a bespoke range for the club.

Mostyn Thomas, Canterbury’s Marketing Manager added
"We are thrilled that a club with the vision of Farnborough and such close involvement in the community with Grass roots, are to be one of the first teams to benefit from our new football teamwear business. As a brand, whilst partnering elite athletes around the world is what we are often recognised for, working at grass roots level of all sports is an integral part of our business."

The partnership has also facilitated Farnborough’s soon to be launched "Kitz4Kidz" scheme, a campaign that will see Farnborough distribute 2000 Club shirts free to youngsters in the Town each year for the next four years, with an equivalent retail cost of £240,000.00.

Steve Duly Farnborough’s Commercial Manager commented "As a club we are committed to engaging with the youth in our community, this is the pinnacle of a number of initiatives that we are operating or planning to implement targeted at the Under 16’s in and around Farnborough." He added "We are a focal point within the community and can provide an outlet which instils pride in the Town of Farnborough, and give opportunities to youngsters
to get behind their hometown team, to be able to give Farnborough kits to so many of the youngsters in the area underpins our commitment to them."

Farnborough are seeking a Supporting Partner for the "Kitz4Kidz" scheme and Duly went on to say "We are currently in discussions regarding partnership opportunities for this project, our partner will have their name printed onto the shirt and this will be a valuable tool for the right company in providing reach to a large percentage of the youth population in the area"

Canterbury’s association with the club will be showcased on May 10th, when Farnborough will be wearing a limited edition kit in the Hampshire Senior Cup Final against Basingstoke Town, being played at Dean Court, home of AFC Bournemouth.

Thats alot that is why I wanted to do this for my brief, Football kits today look too one dimensional, and for the home kit i wanted to add the beauty seen on kits from the 1940-50's.

I could produce the Real Murcia kits in that template however this may take a couple weeks as i have a few uni projects to press on with.

I like the font for the blue kit more than the other, but I like the white kit more. Brilliant work. So refreshing to see someone doing something original.
