Ginsters extend Plymouth Argyle sponsorship

Plymouth Argyle and Ginsters are to continue their long-running successful partnership into the second decade of the 21st century.

The two have signed an agreement that sees the Westcountry-based snack-food giant extend their shirt sponsorship of the club for another two seasons, until the end of the 2010-2011 campaign.

Argyle chairman Paul Stapleton welcomed the new deal, which continues a partnership that began for the 2002-03 season.

He said: "We are delighted that Ginsters have agreed to continue their association with Plymouth Argyle for another two years.

"The fact that this is one of the longest shirt sponsorships in professional football in this country speaks volumes for the relationship between the two.

"We have worn the distinctive Ginsters logo on our shirts for seven seasons now, a period that has coincided with the most successful era in Argyle's modern history.

"It is good that two Westcountry brands with national recognition can continue to support each other to mutual benefit."

Larry File, Ginsters communications manager, said: "Back in 2002 we said that we hoped to build a long-term partnership with Argyle, and this extension to the contract shows our continued commitment to the club.

"The last few years have been a very exciting time for Argyle, and we hope that our support will help the club to achieve even greater success over the coming seasons.

"We have always been keen to support our local community and, with Home Park less than 14 miles from our bakery, this must be one of the most 'local' sponsorship deals in professional football."

True, its the sponsor, its not like Wolfsburg as a club are so linked/associated with one sponsor, as say Bayern with adidas or Man City with Umbro, that it looks wrong with another name on the shirt. I like this, nice simple watermark and the pinstripes look great 8/10

Well, I don\'t think Ginster\'s red color and green color of PAFC match well.

I want to see Pilgrims make a new sponsorship deal, and change this forest green color to brighter green.

Now thats what I call a proper sponsorship deal....pasties are great. Burnley have Hollands pies. Perhaps Arbroath could be sponsored by the smokies and Gillingham could have a jellied eel maker sponsoring them......more local delicacy sponsorship please...oh yes both Bristol clubs are sponsored by a cider maker ...class !
