Hibernian FC announced a new shirt sponsor after having secured a 2-year Club sponsorship deal with Edinburgh based property investment firm McEwan Fraser.

The securing of the deal despite the credit crunch emphasises the high value placed on working with Hibernian by companies in Edinburgh and the wider Scottish and UK business community. The agreement runs from July this year through to June 2011 and as main club sponsor, McEwan Fraser will feature on the Hibernian first team shirts from the start of next season.

Scott Lindsay, Chief Executive, Hibernian FC said of the deal today:

“This is a fantastic agreement for the Club in what is a very challenging time for all business, not just Scottish football. With all areas of revenue under pressure, and in an increasingly competitive sponsorship market, we are delighted to have secured a main sponsor at a value that is in line with the levels previously enjoyed by the Club. We welcome another new sponsor to the Hibernian family – especially one that has such a first hand knowledge of professional football combined with real ambition for their business. This new deal delivers vital sponsorship income for the club, whilst offering McEwan Fraser a key marketing tool as they continue to develop their business from strength-to-strength. Everyone at the Club is looking forward to working with them.”

“I would also like to record the Club’s thanks to Whyte & Mackay, who leave as shirt sponsor at the end of this season, for all their support over the past five years.”

Scott Fraser, Co Founder and Sales Director of McEwan Fraser said: “To be main sponsor of a Club with such a rich heritage and high profile in Scotland is a fantastic opportunity for McEwan Fraser. I am obviously extremely happy to be signing this deal with Hibernian FC – and not just because I am a life-long season ticket holder at the Club! McEwan Fraser has grown substantially since our formation in 2003, and this deal demonstrates our ambition and plans for the future particularly when we currently see so many opportunities in the property investment market place.

“Hibernian has one of the largest fanbases in Scottish football, and is a very well run Club with progressive and ambitious ideas for the future – we will work this deal hard and are very excited about the potential business and profile benefits it brings.”

Established in 2003, McEwan Fraser is an award winning property investment company based in Edinburgh. The company has grown rapidly to a turnover and fee income of over £16 million in 2008 and the company has now established itself across the Central Belt as the market leader in sourcing "off-market" properties.

McEwan and Fraser are helping home owners who have hit hard time due to there own problems. I don\'t blame this company for cashing in on peoples misfortunes. At the end of the day they are putting money into a good cause.

Would you rather they lost their homes altogether? Forced to move their families away from the areas they have grown up, with no choice but to move their children from schools and friends!!?

One of many dodgy home buying companies who prey on homeowners who have hit hard times. They buy your home for a knockdown price then rent it back to you!
I\'m shocked at this deal. Carole Vorderman will be offering Hibs fans shady loans next.
