ING will be the new main sponsor of the Dutch National team starting from January 1, 2010. The Dutch group takes over the main sponsorship deal from Nationale-Nederlanden who have been a sponsor of the KNVB for the last 20 years. Starting from 2010 all Dutch training equipment wil carry the ING logo.
The KNVB and the ING agreed a long term commitment until the World Cup in 2018. ING's ambition is to work with the KNVB and invest in a successful future of Dutch football.

ING has been a sub sponsor of the KNVB since 1996 and now as the head sponsor they will increase its activities in and around Dutch football intensify. As of 2009, ING Group covers 85 million private, corporate and institutional clients in over 40 countries with a workforce of over 125,000 people. In the 2008 Forbes Global 2000, ING was the ninth-largest company in the world.

Nationale-Nederlanden has decided, after over 20 years of successful cooperation with the KNVB to hand over the stick to the ING. This decision stems from the recently new strategy announced for the insurance company in the Netherlands to develop a new brand strategy for Nationale-Nederlanden.
Besides the head sponsorship of the KNVB, ING Netherlands is also involved in lobbying for 2018 World Cup or World Cup 2022, to get the first World Cup to the low countries. A cooperation between Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the beginning of 2010, the ING and the KNVB long term sponsorship strategy and activities plans will be unveiled.
