This Umbro Celtic Home shirt straddles the line between the classic/timeless and the excess of the final decades of the 20th century.
The Glasgow-based club’s famous green and white hoops are embellished here through the jacquard pattern and, in the case of the darker hoops, zigzagging, while there is also a neat collar with subtle trim and the logos - including the crest - contrast on white.
While the seasons this style of shirt was worn in were not glorious for the Celts, this article represents a notable aesthetic period and also club legend Billy McNeill’s last seasons as manager.
