1992-93 Manchester United Away Shirt · The Umbro Shirt Seen in Eric Cantona’s First Season at Old Trafford

1992-93 Manchester United Away Shirt

Manchester United’s 1992/93 Away shirt by Umbro marked the beginning of a new era. It was the first season with Umbro as technical supplier and the campaign that ended the club’s 26-year wait for a league title.

The Umbro shirt was worn in crucial away victories, including matches at Anfield and Highbury, as United pushed towards the inaugural Premier League crown. Mark Hughes led the scoring charts with 16 goals in all competitions, while academy talents David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Gary Neville made their first senior appearances.

The jersey introduced a bold look for United away from Old Trafford. It featured a bright blue base with an abstract black pattern printed throughout. A large tonal Manchester United crest stretched across the front of the shirt, while the traditional club badge appeared on the left chest. The Umbro logo was positioned opposite, with Sharp once again taking centre stage as sponsor. A black collar added contrast to the design, which was produced in both short and long sleeve versions.

The 1992/93 Umbro away shirt remains closely tied to the start of a new kit partnership and the season that brought league glory back to Manchester United.
