The seller added the following : Terry Butcher Donated to the 'Shoot' Magazine Auction for the Hillsborough Disaster Fund 1989 For sale are two very special match worn Terry Butcher shirts originally donated to 'Shoot' magazine's auction to raise funds for the survivors of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. An original copy of the magazine featuring all of the items being auctioned will also be included for the winner.
Shirt 1: Glasgow Rangers League Cup Final Shirt. Butcher Captained the winning team to a 3-2 win over Aberdeen.
Shirt 2: A blood stained England home shirt, game unknown. Butcher very rarely wore a long sleeve shirt so it should be possible for the winner to identify what game this shirt might have come from.
I remember seeing a game from this era where Butcher had to change his shirt during the game before immediately rolling up the sleeves when he came back on.
