Up for auction : England Admiral Match Worn Player Shirt Vintage 1970's
The seller added the following: Classic England Admiral Home Shirt from the 1970's. This shirt is a long sleeved version worn from 1974 to 1980. The traditional style of red sew-on number 15, as opposed to a style of block number later favoured by Admiral, leads me to believe that the shirt dates from around 1976/77. The shirt is made of a medium-weight cotton material and both Admiral logo and england badge are silk embroidered patches stitched to the shirt front.
Overall condition is good with signs of discolouration from match use, a few pin holes that have been repaired and some general mis-shapeness typical of the age and material. This does not detract from the rarity of the item and the extent to which it would display - ideally framed I would say!
Please note that this is not a retro-remake but the genuine article from 30 years ago.
