The Grimsby Town home shirt from 1996 to 1998 was produced by Lotto and worn during a pivotal chapter in the club’s history.
The black and white striped design features a fold-over collar, Lotto branding on the right chest, and the Europe’s Food Town sponsor printed across the front. The club crest sits on the opposite side, completing the classic Mariners look.
This shirt was used over two contrasting seasons. In 1996–97, Grimsby were relegated from the First Division, finishing just two points from safety. However, under Alan Buckley, the club bounced back in 1997–98 by winning the Football League Trophy and securing promotion through the play-offs after victories over Fulham and Northampton Town.
