Ajax 1988-89 player shirt by Kappa believed to have been issued to or match worn by Jonk in the 1988-89 season.
Jonk was snapped up from Volendam in '88 and provided quality back-up in his first three years before holding down a first team spot from '91 onwards.
The midfielder made 19 appearances in all competitions scoring 6 goals as the side finished runners-up in the Eredivisie. Jonk established himself as a regular under Louis van Gaal and his great form saw him go to Euro '92 and then be poached by Serie A giants Inter Milan. This superb white Kappa design was worn in 87-88 also but with a white collar and even in 88-89 the short sleeve version had a white collar.
