This Manchester City 96/97 Umbro away shirt was worn during the club’s first season back in Division One following relegation from the Premier League.
The campaign began under Steve Coppell, who resigned after just over a month in charge, citing the pressure of the role. Frank Clark took over midway through the season, guiding City to a mid-table finish in 14th place.
Produced by Umbro, the shirt features a claret and white design with diagonal stripes across the front. The club badge is centrally placed beneath the Umbro logo, with Brother as the main sponsor. The yellow detailing and collar trim complete the design worn during a challenging transitional period for the club.
