The Newcastle United away shirt from 1985 to 1988 was produced by Umbro and served across three consecutive campaigns in the First Division.
During this period, the Magpies, managed by Willie McFaul, consolidated their position in the top flight. The 1987/88 season saw the team finish 8th, one of their strongest league finishes of the decade.
The shirt is designed in light grey with a black and white diagonal band across the chest. The Umbro logo is stitched on the right side, while a large NUFC circular crest with a magpie motif appears on the left. A V-neck collar with black trim completes the design, with matching detailing on the cuffs.
This shirt is regarded as a rare piece among football shirt collectors, representing an important phase in Newcastle’s modern history.
